01.Our Mission
Voice as Connection
Yeittu's mission is to provide an inclusive digital environment where the diverse cultures, languages, and stories of Africa are celebrated through voice. We believe in the authenticity of spoken word and its ability to build stronger community bonds.
To maintain this environment, we require all users to engage with empathy and respect. These guidelines define what is and isn't allowed on our platform to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
02.Safety & Protection
Protecting Minors
We have a zero-tolerance policy for content that exploits or endangers minors. This includes any form of predatory behavior, sexualization, or harmful content directed at children under the age of 18.
Self-Harm and Suicide
Yeittu is a community of support, but we are not a crisis intervention service. We prohibit content that encourages, provides instructions for, or promotes self-harm or suicide.
SEEKING HELP
If you or someone you know is in emotional distress or considering self-harm, please contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
03.Harassment & Bullying
Personal Attacks
We do not allow content that targets specific individuals with the intent to shame, degrade, or intimidate. This includes persistent unwanted contact, "doxing" (releasing private information), or coordinated attacks on users.
Sexual Harassment
Non-consensual sexual content, sexual solicitation, or unwelcome sexual commentary in voice rooms or messages is strictly prohibited.
04.Hate Speech & Discrimination
Inclusive Dialogue
Yeittu is a home for all Africans and global citizens. We prohibit content that attacks, threatens, or demeans individuals or groups based on protected characteristics, including:
- Race, ethnicity, or national origin
- Religious affiliation or spiritual beliefs
- Gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation
- Disability or serious disease
- Age or veteran status
05.Sensitive & Graphic Content
Violence and Gore
We prohibit content that contains graphic depictions of violence, animal cruelty, or extreme bodily harm. Users should not share content that glorifies suffering or promotes violent acts.
CONTENT WARNING
Sharing graphic content for the purpose of shocking or disgusting others will result in immediate account suspension.
06.Authenticity & Integrity
Impersonation
Do not pretend to be someone else. We prohibit accounts that use another person's name, voice, or likeness with the intent to deceive or mislead the community.
Spam and Misinformation
Coordinated inauthentic behavior, including automated accounts (bots) used to inflate engagement or spread harmful misinformation, is not allowed.
07.Reporting & Enforcement
How We Moderate
Yeittu uses a combination of automated technology and human review to identify and act on content that violates these guidelines. We prioritize reports involving immediate physical safety or child exploitation.
Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or a user that violates these standards, please use the in-app reporting tool or contact our safety team.
08.Appeals Process
Fairness First
If your content was removed or your account was restricted, you have the right to appeal our decision. We review all appeals through a secondary human moderator team to ensure fairness and accuracy.
09.Legal Compliance
Regional Laws
While these guidelines are global, we comply with local laws in the jurisdictions where we operate. In cases where local law requires stricter moderation or disclosure, we will comply as necessary while protecting user privacy.
